Port Chester is small village in Westchester County, New York, within the town of Rye. Its current population is at around 30,000. The village is well known for it's fantastic selection of quality restaurants & food stores. The Tarry Lodge & the Tarry Market (Mario Batali & Joe Bastianich) are located in downtown right on Main street before you pass under the bridge for the train. Another popular local spot with great food is Bar Taco. Situated right on the water with a great view out into the Long Island Sound

Iconic Port Chester real estate consists of the Landmark Building, which was converted into condo's from the original Life Saver Factory. The Capitol Theater can also be found in the downtown area. The Theater recently underwent a multi-million dollar renovation and has hosted popular musical artist such as Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Willie Nelson, BB King, B-52's, and many many more. It's a fantastic small venue to see a great show with some of today's favorite artist.

Port Chester-Rye Union Free public school district, has 1 High School, 1 Middle School and 4 elementary schools, one of which is a Magnet School John F Kennedy. Kings Street, Park Avenue and Thomas Edison elementary schools are the others.

Port Chester is a very diverse community with a good mix of small businesses and residential communities. I personally feel it is the last "gem" in Westchester County. It's a village where you can still find affordable Port Chester real estate with reasonable taxes. The Port Chester train station is central to the village and easy walking distance from anywhere in the village. Commuter rail service to Grand Central Terminal in New York City is about 50 minutes and the village sits close to many major roadways. I-287, I-95, and the Hutchinson River Parkway are all within a 5 minute drive from the village.
